I disabled the NVidia RAID controller and decided to use the OS software RAID instead. Since I posted that article I have seen the same error on multiple other computers, and in all cases root cause was hard-drive that is acting up with Misaligned HEAD and/or btw, nothing has changed in the way the irq's are used on my xp-rig. Thus, I suggested the hard drive diagnostic. news

It could be that port is sata 2 now, but most likely so is your hard-drive - and either way that ridiculously fast sata 3 is only relevant for newest SSD Ran "System Tuner" which disabled Prefetch/Superfetch.
